1930 RPI Reunion

Sumner Larue Tone (1864-1942) and Preston Meeker Harrington Jr (1904-1980) both graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and attended reunions. In 1930 both attended, and Katharine Spofford Tone (1904-1983) went with her father. This is where Katharine and Preston first met.

The 8mm film archives include footage from an RPI reunion in Cuba. It's undated so it's not clear if it's the 1930 reunion. There's no sign of who shot it but one scene appears to include Sumner Larue Tone (1864-1942).

I have a passenger list in my archives for the S.S. Carmania, which departed New York for Havana on Saturday 8 February 1930 with all of the above-mentioned people. It seems that Preston and Katharine met on the outward voyage.

This photo is pretty blurred but seems to show all three onboard a ship that might be the Carmania.
