Letter, Carrie Best Harrington to Preston Jr, March 3 1909
A letter from Caroline Elsie Best (1872-1954) to Preston Meeker Harrington Jr (1904-1980) dated March 3, 1909.

Dear Little June
Mother thought she would write a few lines And Grandma or Aunt unreadable could read them to you. Glad you are a good boy and enjoying yourself.
Ronald has the measles. He is over to his Grandma Holbrook's.(?) She came over and told me about him. His Mama is there too. They have sent poor little Seymour over to Jersey. They are afraid he will get them too. Daniel and Ruth sent Ronald some pictures today.
I am sending you 3 postals-- one from Ruth-- one from Daniel, and one which Aunt Sue sent from the Bahama Islands
Aunt Annie expects to go to Ethel's next week.
I cleared a birds nest out of one of the windows in your bedroom today. We did not want it there. The little birds sat up in the cherry tree and watched us. My, how they did chatter. They did not like it a bit.
Lots of kisses from us all. Tell Grandma I will write her soon. Shall hope to see my baby next week-- Love to all. Mother.
Notes:
- Grandma could be Rachel Perham Clement (1838-1920), in which case the aunt mentioned could be Martha Alice Harrington (1865-1946) or Anna Emeline Harrington (1880-1944). Both are possible since the aunt's name seems to start with "A" and might be "Alee" for Alice. Or grandma could be Amelia Moore (1840-1921), but then it's harder to guess who the aunt would be. None of Carrie's aunts or her sister Susan seem likely based on the handwriting.
- Aunt Sue who went to the Bahamas would be Susan Annie Best (1873-1940).
- The later mention of Aunt Annie is probably Anna Emeline Harrington (1880-1944)
- Ruth and Daniel are of course Ruth Best Harrington (1901-1959) and Daniel W Harrington (1903-1958).
- Ronald is presumably a friend since there are no Ronalds in this region of the family tree.
