Marvin F. Clement (1834-1866)
- U.S. Civil War Draft Registration Records, 1863-1865 show Marvin Clement, resident of Hebron, NY, a married farmer, on a list of people "subject to military duty" as of June 1863. It doesn't say that he served. Maybe he was exempted because his brother James Harvey Clement (1836-1862) had already served and been killed in battle?
- 📄 Sketch of the Clement Family says that Marvin was "killed by kick of a horse", so although his date roughly coincides with the Civil War, it doesn't seem to have been related.
- The Bancroft Public Library's cemetery resources lists Marvin's cause of death as "Fract. Ribs, kick by horse". It also has a note reading "In Rec. Vault Dec. 19" that I don't understand.
