Elizabeth Edwards (1838-1891)

Mrs. Elizabeth Torrence died at her home on Harmony street, at 1:45 on Thursday afternoon, after an illness of about one week's duration from paralysis, produced by heart trouble. She was about 52 years of age and the widow of Oliver P. Torrence, at one time a conductor on the Chicago express on the Ft. Wayne railroad, but whose death occurred 20 years ago. She leaves two daughters-- Katie Torrence, a well known teacher, and Blanche, a stenographer, and one son Frederick, a clerk in the Tumbler Works, all of whom reside at home and were with their mother during her illness and at her death. Her only brother, T. J. Edwards, of Salineville, 0., was also with her duriag the last hours of her life. She had not been in good health for some time, but was taken suddenly worse on Monday, after which she was unable to speak. Mrs. Torrence was a lady who possessed traits of character that endeared her to all who knew her. For many years previous to her death she had been & constant member of the Baptist church. The funeral services were conducted at her late home at 3 p. m., to-day, the Rev A. J. Bousall, ofliciating. The interment was in Irvin's cemetery.
