Mary Ann Tone (1824-1909)
Mary Ann was Thomas Jefferson Tone (1830-1903)'s sister.
The 📔 Tone Family Photo Album includes a photo. There's also one of her husband Archimedes Gray (1807-1867):
I haven't been able to learn much about her, but via Ancestry:
- Born in Bergen while the Tones lived there, a sister of Thomas Jefferson Tone (1830-1903).
- Living in Bergen with her parents and siblings, as per the 1850 US census
- Married Archimedes Gray (1807-1867) in 1858 in Bergen, thereafter lived with him in Ovid, NY.
- Still living in Ovid after her husband's death, as per the 1870 and 1880 US census.
- Living in Montpelier, Idaho as per the 1900 US census, and later died there.
She's mentioned as living in Montpelier in an obituary of Thomas Jefferson Tone (1830-1903). She may have lived with her sister Margaret Maria Tone (1837-1926), who also lived there. Montpelier was settled by Mormon pioneers, which could be part of the reason she ended up there.
