📄 Letter, Blanche and Elizabeth Tone to Sumner LaRue Tone, c. 1900

This is a fragment of a letter-- the first page I have starts in the middle of a sentence and has a "2" at the top. It's signed by Elizabeth Torrence Tone (1898-1985) and Emma Blanche Torrence (1868-1925).

at 6-7 and then of popins came down he wouldn't have to go hunting all over the county.

Do you think you could bring mam a clean wrapper. I am tired of seeing her in this old thing. Mam had laid out a blue one to bring down and then did not bring it. It is a new one and is trimmed with a blue and white edge. It has never been worn. Don't bother with it papa, dear, if it is going to take up your time or isn't convenient for you to do so. Mam can get along but it would be a little nicer if she had it here.

Three weeks to-morrow since we came down. I think I have learned a good deal in that time and indeed I think I have been a remarkably good baby.

I have been put to bed and am sleeping soundly and I hope I sleep without having mam get up every little times to rock me. I behaved first rate last night and it is coller to-night so maybe I will get along very well.

It is half past nine so, papa dear, "dood night". Mam is getting to be an awful sleepy head. Perhaps come down to see us Saturday.

Your loving daughter Elizabeth.
Darling, good night, Blanche
