Burton J. Spofford (1833-1876)

Born in NY, probably Bergen. Lived his whole life in that area.
Ancestry found his will in which he
- leaves his land in South Byron, NY to be divided among his three then-minor children when they reached 21 years old
- leaves the house to his wife, "...to be held and managed for her welfare and benefit by my trustee herinafter named, this to be in lieu of her right of dower in my real estate".
- Names Thomas Jefferson Tone (1830-1903) his trustee and executor, to among other things invest or sell securities, collect rental income, etc, for the benefit of his heirs.
